PORTLAND– The Portland Brewers secured a decisive 4-2 victory over the visiting Montreal Expose on Monday night, powered by multi-point performances from Hayley Wickenheiser and Jack Ma.

The Brewers, playing in front of a spirited home crowd, struck first. Wickenheiser found the net with assists from Ken Kesey and Mac Miller. Montreal answered back when Jean-Paul Sartre capitalized on a setup from Immanuel Kant and Amy Winehouse, briefly tying the game.

Portland’s offense, however, proved relentless. Deon Sanders broke the tie, assisted by Ma, who was just getting started. Later, Jack Kerouac buried what would become the game-winning goal, thanks to helpers from Meghan Duggan and Wickenheiser.

The Expose attempted a comeback, with Edward Snowden finding the net off a pass from Brooks Robinson to pull within one. But Jack Ma sealed the deal for Portland, scoring a goal of his own–with Roberta Flack providing the assist–to restore the two-goal cushion and lock in the 4-2 final.

Despite the loss, the Expose showed flashes of offensive pressure, with Franz Kafka leading all players with seven shots on goal. The Brewers’ defense, however, held firm when it mattered, securing a well-earned win.
